Surely He hath borne our griefs [sicknesses], and carried our sorrows [pains]: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions [individual sins], he was bruised for our iniquities [generational sin patterns]: the chastisement of our peace [all mental torment] was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. ( Isaiah 53:4–5, brackets and emphasis added)

Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24 reveal that our healing was paid for when Jesus died on the cross. However, pain has a way of blinding us to God’s loving nature.
