Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood.By the fifth week in the womb, the baby is forming a backbone, a spinal column, and the nervous system. The liver, kidneys, and intestines have begun to take shape. By week six, brain waves are detected. By week seven, the baby’s eyelids, toes, and nose are forming, and the baby is swimming. At only eight weeks, every organ is in place, bones begin to replace cartilage, and fingerprints begin to form. Keep in mind, fingerprints are a big part of how we identify someone as an individual. It’s just incredible how a baby develops in the womb in just a few weeks.
